Airtel money is a mobile wallet through which you can do a host of transactions directly from your mobile phone! You can open an airtel money account instantly, load cash and start using it for multiple purposes like prepaid recharge, money transfer, bill payments, online shopping and more! Simply download the app and enjoy the convenience of transacting through airtel money - anytime, anywhere!
Airtel money app is available for all networks and for Android and iOS devices. To use the app you require a WiFi connection or mobile internet (2G/3G) on your phone.  There is no extra charge for using the app, just your standard data network charges levied by your service provider will apply
Airtel Money is offered by Airtel M Commerce Services Ltd (AMSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Limited. AMSL is authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate payment system for issuance and operation of prepaid payment instruments in India known as Stored Value Card Wallets (SCW). AMSL duly complies with applicable rules and regulations. 

Open an Account

Registering for an airtel money account is very easy and takes only a minute!  When you download the app, you need to enter a few details like your name, date of birth and email address. To keep your account safe, you will also be asked to self select and create a 4 digit password called an mPIN.
To activate this account, you need to enter your mobile number and a unique one time password will be sent to your mobile phone immediately. On an android phone, the app will automatically verify the OTP and you can start using the app instantly. IOS users will have to enter the OTP in the app screen and then start using the app.

Load Cash

After opening an airtel money  account, simply add money to your wallet and start using it instantly ! You can load cash into your airtel money wallet through either of the following -
Net Banking
Debit Card
Credit card.

This can be done by visiting the menu from the top left corner of the app screen, choose the 'load cash' option and follow the instructions. Cash load through debit card and net banking is absolutely free ! For credit cards, there is a nominal convenience fee which is applicable. The amount of cash that you can load may vary depending on your bank and the mode you select. You may also load cash by visiting an authorized Airtel Money Retailer. 

Using Airtel Money

Through the airtel money app, you can do the following transactions:-
Recharge your prepaid mobile, DTH connection and Data cards
Send Money – Transfer money to another airtel money account or a bank account
Pay Bills – Use airtel money to pay utility bills, telecom bills and insurance premium
Pay at shop – Now pay instantly at restaurants and retail stores

It is simple and easy to do transactions through the airtel money app – all you have to do is enter the required details, your transaction amount and verify your mPIN.
It is even easier if you choose the fast forward option which enables you to repeat your most frequent transactions with a single click! On the transaction screen, you will notice a Fast Forward icon on the top right corner. Click on this icon and you will see your top 10 transactions. Now all you have to do is select the one you wish to repeat and confirm with your mPIN.  

Recharge

Use Airtel Money to recharge any prepaid, DTH or data card. All the major recharges are supported including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance, Aircel, Tata Sky, Dish TV and man more. Just click on 'Recharge' on the home screen and choose the correct type of recharge (Mobile/DTH/Datacard) to go to the transaction screen.
For example for mobile recharge, on the transaction screen enter the mobile number or enter a name from your phone contact list. Then select the operator followed by the recharge amount.  Confirm the transaction with your mPIN.  If you're not sure what amount to recharge with, just click on 'Browse Plans' and choose available recharge packs. You will get an instant SMS confirming the transaction.

Send Money

You can transfer money to any bank account or another Airtel Money account from your wallet - instantly, 24x7.When you click on Send Money on the home screen it will take you to the transaction screen where you may first select whether you wish to transfer to an Airtel Money account or a bank account.

To Airtel Money Account : Here, just enter the mobile number of the recipient or enter a name from your phone contact list, enter the amount, and confirm with your mPIN. You will get an instant SMS confirming the transaction.
To bank account :  Here, just choose the bank that you want to transfer to, and enter details of the account you wish to transfer to - bank name, account number, beneficiary's mobile number and amount. Confirm with your mPIN. You will get an instant SMS confirming the transfer request. 

Note*: Instant money transfers are allowed for all banks listed in the money transfer section (there are banks that support the IMPS feature), If you choose 'Other bank' the money transfer will be processed using the NEFT feature, which takes 4 working hours for the transfer

Pay Bills

This feature allows you to pay your Utility, Telecom (Postpaid, landline and Datacard) bills and Insurance premium by using your airtel money account.  Just click on 'Pay bills' on the home screen and choose the type of bill you wish to pay and proceed to the transaction screen. On the transaction screen, enter the required information and confirm with your mPIN. You will get an instant SMS confirming the transaction.
Note* : It takes 3 days for your utility bill payments (electricity, water, gas) to be processed. Please pay 3 days before your due date to avoid any late payment charges by your biller. Only the following boards allow payment till the due date without any late charges:1. South Bihar (SBPDCL) 2. North Bihar(NBPDCL) 3. Jaipur(JVVNL) 4. Jodhpur (JVVNL). 5. Chhattisgarh(CSPDCL) 6. West Bengal (WBSEDCL)

Pay at Shop

Airtel Money is accepted at a wide range of stores across the country. Just click on 'Pay at Shop' to go to the transaction screen. Enter the merchant mobile number displayed at the store or enter a name from your phone contact list followed by the amount. You will get an instant SMS confirming the transaction.
Note: Some stores require you to confirm a unique code to the person at the counter. In this case, the response you will get will be the code to be shared.

mPIN Related

  1. How do I change my mPIN?

If you remember your existing mPIN, you may easily change it on the app and create a new one of your choice.

  1. Click on the top left corner of the app for the main menu.
  2. Click on the tab ‘Change mPIN’
  3. Enter current mPIN & then the new mPIN 2 times.
  4. It will be effective instantly

 

  1. I forgot my mPIN, what should I do?

Getting a new mPIN is easy can can be done in 3 simple steps –

  1. Call airtel customer support, either by  dialing 121 from your airtel mobile or 08800012121 from a non airtel number (STD charges would be applicable for this number). 
  2. Select the option for Airtel Money to get connected to a  customer care representative. The agent will reset and send you a fresh mPIN via SMS, after the necessary verification.
  3. For security purpose, you are requested to change this mPIN within 48 hrs in order to use your airtel money wallet. To change mPIN, click on the main menu on top left corner of the screen and click on the tab 'change mPIN'

 

  1. I use airtel money app but I don’t have an airtel number. I have forgotten my mPIN, how do I get a new one?

LOAD CASH

  1. While doing a transaction if I realise my airtel money account balance is not enough, what should I do?

Airtel money app allows you to load cash on the go! It will automatically identify the extra amount that you need to complete your transaction and give you the option to load cash within the same screen. Here’s an example -

  1. A user wants to do a recharge for Rs 500 and has Rs 300 in the airtel money account. 
  2. After entering the details, the app screen will show that minimum Rs 200 is needed to complete the transaction.
  3. User will get a choice select ‘Pay mode’ (credit card, debit card or net banking) to add the remaining 200 and continue with the transaction
  4. This will save time as you don’t have to exit the screen to first load cash
  5. We recommend that you refer the link available which shares information on charges & limits for online cash load.

 

  1. How much cash can I load through a debit card, credit card or net banking?

The amount of cash you can load to your airtel money wallet varies depending on your bank and the mode you select. Please refer the section on Charges and Limits for further details.

 

  1. What are the charges applicable if I load cash through a retailer or online?
  1. There are no charges for loading cash through a debit card or netbanking.
  2. IF you load cash through a retailer, there is only a first time fee of Rs 15. For all future transactions there is no charge applicable.
  3. For cash load through a a credit card, there is a nominal fee depending on the transaction amount. Please refer the section on Charges and Limits for further details.

 

ACCOUNT RELATED

  1. How do I view my Account Statement?

In your account statement you can view the details of all your transactions over a period of 30 days. You have the option to select your preferred date range which should be within the last 6 months. Here’s how you can view your statement-

  1. Click on the main menu icon on the top left corner of the screen. Right on the top you will notice 2 green coloured tabs, click on the right tab called Account Statement.
  2. When you select this tab, you will see the last 30 days date range automatically selected. You may change this as per your requirement.
  3. Enter your mPIN and you will be able to view all your transactions for last 30 days.

 

  1. I have lost my phone, what happens to my airtel money account?

 

Your airtel money account is safe even if you lose your mobile phone as the mPIN is known only to you and therefore no one can access your account or do a transaction. Please inform Airtel Money by immediately contacting our customer care team. You may dial 121 from an airtel number or 08800012121 from a non airtel number and we shall block your account for further security. Once you have a new handset, please contact customer care to unblock your airtel money account.  We recommend that you change your mPIN once you change your handset.

 

  1. How do I check my account balance?

Your airtel money account balance is always displayed on the top right corner of the app screen. Please remember to check your balance before proceeding for a transaction.

 

  1. Is my airtel money account balance different from my prepaid/postpaid phone balance?

Yes.

 

  1. I have installed the new airtel money app on my phone, can I continue to use the old one?

It is recommended that you first uninstall the old app and then download the new airtel money app. The new features and benefits are available on the new version only.

 

USING AIRTEL MONEY

  1. While using this app, what is the maximum amount allowed for a single transaction?

The maximum amount per transaction can be Rs 10,000 on the app, except for money transfer which is Rs 5000.

 

  1. If I wish to recharge my prepaid mobile phone through airtel money, can I avail ongoing special offers given by my service provider?

For any existing offers, you may refer ‘Browse Plans’ link in the recharge transaction screen. This will show you all available offers for airtel and non-airtel recharges. You may select an offer and proceed with the transaction.

 

  1. Is there any limit for recharging my prepaid mobile number through airtel money?

The minimum amount you may recharge for is Rs 10 and maximum Rs 10,000.

 

  1. How long does it take for money to reach my beneficiary?

Your beneficiary will receive the money instantly when it’s transferred through IMPS for banks which are enabled on instant transfer facility. For other banks, money is transferred through NEFT which takes up to 4 working hours. 

 

  1. How do I know money has reached the beneficiary?

For a successful money transfer you will receive an SMS when money reaches the beneficiary account. The receiver will also get an SMS on the number entered by you while doing the transaction.

 

  1. How many days before the due date should I make a bill payment?

It takes 3 days for your utility bill payments (electricity, water, gas) to be processed, therefore we request you to make a payment 3 days before your due date to avoid any late payment charges by your biller.

 

  1. Are there any charges for using the Airtel Money app?

There are no extra charges for using the Airtel Money app. Standard data network charges levied by your network operator would apply.

 

  1. Is there any limit on the amount of money I can transfer through airtel money?

In one transaction, you may transfer minimum Rs 10 and maximum Rs 5,000

 

  1. What are the charges applicable for money transfer?
